We all know that Shego, our favourite sarcastic villainess, used to be a superhero. Why do you think she went from saving kittens in trees to being a supervillain? Does she enjoy being evil or does she hate being the person people turn to for help?

To be honest I always liked the idea that Shego realised she was the only one in Team Go who was competent and that she began to think she was being taken advantage of. As such she began to let her self go disipline wise and low and behold she liked the freedom and release that evil brought.

Well, here's my version of the Team Go/Shego backstory.
In Rewriting History, we see Miss Go, an ancestor of Shego and Team Go.
When she retired from the life of villiany, she built her own city with the money she "earned" from being evil and named it after herself (Go City).
After some time has passed, the descendents of Miss Go either forget or didn't know that she was evil.
And eventually, we get to Shego and her brothers.
Rainbow comet, treehouse, crash, super powers.
And we know how the rest of the went.
I think it's a combination of hating her brothers and wanting to be free to do whatever she wants.
Really, it seems she has more in common with Kim then her brothers.
Plus, Shego's a heavy hitter, while her brothers have a "lame factor".
I think it's the same factor Ron has, but even if he doesn't have have super powers, he's still a step or two above them.

I concur with the Go brothers lame factor. Not so sure about the Go city idea, just seems like her family would have been higher up career wise if they were the founding family. Rewriting history, one of my favorite episodes by the way, was also a dream sequence so you have to take it with a grain of salt.

Well, just because an ancestor of theirs founded the city doesn't mean that they were important.
Not that it's been discussed what life before Team Go was like. There's mention of a treehouse and that's it.
Plus, Team Go seem to be somewhat modest. So they took low level jobs (or at least, Hego did). Plus, you can't commit to a career as a hero with a full time job.
But look at all the green stuff Team Go has. A skyscraper, jets, etc. You'd need serious money to have all that stuff. Miss Go's legacy, I'm thinking.
It's ironic that someone who was dedicated to evil would pave the way for a superhero team.
And I never believed that it was a dream in Rewriting History. There is one fact that blows it all out of the water.
If you pay close attention, at the end of the "dream" Kim is wearing her blue star yellow shirt. When she "wakes up", she is still wearing that shirt.
But when the episode begins, she's wearing her green midriff top. So, if it was really a dream, she would have still been wearing this when she woke up.
I suggest you ignore the ending. It was just tacked on because some executive didn't like the episode, so they insisted it become a "dream sequence".
Mind you, the KP team seems to be rejecting that, what with Ronicus, the "mysterious female warrior", Drakkus Maximus and Black Eye Brown.

Careful now, Black eye brown was never even implied to be related to Drakken, Drakken was possessed by Black eye, there is a big difference. I will grant you the weak ending of Rewriting history. Generally speaking even if your family doesn't have clout but is still a founding family of a City your family has influence. Good examples of this can be seen in the old cities of Europe or the Southern United States where a handful of families have held sway for generations. I don't see anything modest about Mego.

When Shego is told the name of the pirate controlling Drakken, she looks him up on the internet. When she does this, we see a picture of Black Eye Brown. He looks exactly like Drakken! So, I'm thinking they are related. Here's a picture to prove it: i177.photobucket.com/albums/w224/ajbckmn/KimPossible/EpisodeGrabs/BlackEyeBrown01.pngWell, Mego isn't that modest! But I'm thinking he has to maintain a certain level of anonymity as a superhero. Maybe he's going with the millionaire playboy cover! We never actually find out much about Team Go's personal life. We know Hego manages the Grande Bueno Nacho, but that's about it.

Granted the picture of Black Eyer looks like Drakken but I think that was more oyt of convience than anything else. It seems to be that the designers of the KP universe wanted to keep family / distant relatives rather obvious by establishing name similarities. You pointed this out specifically with Rewriting History.

My opinion? Being a good guy is not always fun. Doing the right thing is often not the emotionally satisfying thing. I think she got sick of having to do the right thing even when the wrong thing felt more 'right'. Does that make sense?
I also think she likes the glamorous life, and life with Hego and her brothers was, well, a drag.

Makes a lot of sense actually, touches on the breaking away from disipline and control idea.

Yea,she's a rebel! She probably just got sick of her brothers and started entertaining the idea that she coud be evil and do whatever she wanted without worrying about relationships etc..However,we see that she formed a relationship with Drakken and was still not evil to the point of bloodthirsty. So,despite her somewhat likeable evil qualities and constantly sarcastic tone of voice,Shego is good at heart, and whether or not she turns good again,we can always trust that she is never a real threat to Kim and Ron!!GO SHEGO!!

Hmmmm. Interesting. As things currently are I agree. Shego is not a lethal threat to Kim and Ron NOW. However, judging by the intensity of some of Kim and Shego's fights in the first three seasons and even as late as 4 I think there is grounds to say they were really, really trying to hurt / kill each other from time to time.

I think it's like a game between Kim and Shego. Since Kim is the only one who can beat Shego, she likes the challenge of fighting with her. So, she probably looks forward to Kim's arrival. Since Shego appears to be friendly(ish) with Kim when their interests don't conflict, I would reason that (for Shego) this is her version of friendship. She actually likes Kim, but can't admit it. Imagine the leverage Kim would have if she knew Shego likes her!

Shego is a rebeld. She enjoys doing whatever she wants. Being evil is her way to go against the system, tell everybody she's not gonna follow any law or order. But she's clearly not evil for the sake of evil, nor saddist neither cruel, and she doesn't do anything "evil" just for the sake of hurting someone else. As long as she is free, she's fine with herself. That's just who she is. She actually likes Kim, but can't admit it. Imagine the leverage Kim would have if she knew Shego likes her!

Probably true, at the very least Kim and Shego have respect for each other as combatants which that in its self can go a long way.

Yeah, I'm sure with all of the equiptment around the lair, Shego could really hurt if not kill Kim if she wanted to. Luckily, the respect saves them both.

Shego does seem to be holding back.
The only time she seems to go "all out" is when Kim is obviously protected (centurion armor or supersuit).
But I don't think Shego's capable of defeating Kim.
Even though Shego has a superpower, Kim has developed ways to counter this, even without her supersuit.
